It’s been an unBEElievable TWO YEARS at Mystic Bee Sanctuary. We want to thank all our BEElievers who continue to support us, and participate in our classes, workshops and programs. We wouldn’t BEE here without you, and that’s the truth! We think 2018 is going to BEE the sweetest year yet - and here’s a few reasons why.
New BEEginnings
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Jacob’s Ladder Honey. Beekeeper Jacob from Naalehu, Hawaii is donating two hives to the Mystic Bee Sanctuary and ongoing mentoring and education on bee stewardship. What a nice guy! Thanks Jacob!
Mystic Bee Sanctuary will BEE using the hives to establish our first Bee Haven Garden on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Mystic Bee Sanctuary is researching purchasing a Flow Hive. The Flow Hive is a new bee-friendly hive technology developed in Australia, with a design that minimizes bee disturbance and simplifies honey harvesting.
You can meet Jacob of Jacob’s ladder honey and check out his delicious honey products at the Keahou Farmer’s Market, Saturdays from 9am-12pm, and at the South Kona Green Market, Sundays from 9am-2pm. Try his “Bee Bread” and his super sweet, straight from the hive honey.
Philanthro-BEEs
The Mystic Bee Sanctuary’s ongoing partnership with the Arc of Kona - a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities - is just getting sweeter.
Arc of Kona participants have been busy bees, joining other Kona Philanthro-Bees at the Mystic Bee Sanctuary, creating every week and have been cranking out some pretty rock solid (pun intended) results. The painted rocks will BEE used to decorate the Bee Haven Garden. If you have not heard, the Arc of Kona ROCKS!
BEE There - Upcoming Events
The Mystic Bee Sanctuary is calling all Queen Bees for its annual Women’s Retreat. We are all Creative BEE-ings! Come unlock that inner sweetness and find out what you’ve got in your honey pot. The retreat will include an Opening Beach Ceremony, a Group Sandtray Session, and a Guided Mixed Media Painting. All materials are included & No Prior Art or Sandtray Experience is needed. Each Queen Bee will create her own masterpiece to take home. March 31st from 9am-2pm, $75 per person. To register bee-mail Selvy using Subject: RETREAT mysticbeemail@gmail.com.
