An Open Love Letter to the Women Who Inspire Me

March 8th, 2018 | International Women's Day

This is an open love letter to the women in my life that inspire me, past and present.

First of all, thank you for being you. Watching you gives me the confidence to seek my inner self and be true to her. To get quiet and listen. To turn inwards. To learn to trust and follow my intuition.

Thank you for your flaws and imperfections. For being unapologetically real. For your bad hair days and big butt jeans. For your temper tantrums and hissy fits, your sorrows, anxieties and fears. Thank you for giving me permission to be perfectly imperfect.

Thank you for your gutsy moves, your dreams, your reaching, stretching and demanding more from life. For pressing onwards. For speaking up. For not taking no for an answer. For your blood and sweat and tears and time.

Thank you for what you’ve given up or put on hold. As I go forward into this world I carry your deferred dreams in my back pocket. As I walk my path, I carry you with me, always. My successes are yours also, and my failures are shared. As I grow, we grow. In everything that I do I think of you, because you light my fire.

You inspire me to be the woman I am today, and that is why I love you.

Who are the women in your life that inspire you? Give them a shout today to say thank you.
